Meld Misdaad Anoniem (M.) is a member of the international organization Crime Stoppers International (CSI). More than twenty countries including Canada, South Africa and Australia and countries in the Caribbean are members of CSI. The mission of CSI is to mobilize the world to give information about crime anonymously. Currently about 7.5% of the world has the possibility to the report anonymously.
Joining forces against international crime
To tackle serious international crime, CSI works together with international partners such as INTERPOL, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the International Police Training Institute (IPTI). By joining forces is a global network has been set up to catch fugitives and to address international crimes.
Anonymous reporting works worldwide
Crime Stoppers was established in 1976 in the United States. Since its founding, more than 950,000 suspects have been arrested worldwide thanks to anonymous tips. Analysis from Crime Stoppers International shows that every fifteen minutes a crime is solved thanks to anonymous tips. Over € 100,000 in stolen goods and more than € 400,000 in drugs are recovered every day. Meld Misdaad Anoniem has been a member of CSI since 2002.
